Pocky and Pretz (Part 1)

I think I cannot stop once I started eating it. I love trying different flavors and I have tried nearly all the flavors available. Everytime I go to Asia, I search for limited flavors and buy them ALLL.

For the ones who does not know such products, they are biscuit sticks. Pocky is biscuit sticks that is covered with chocolate while Pretz is savory biscuit sticks. They come in A LOT of different flavors. They make new flavors and eliminate flavors all the time.

As for Pretz, I don't they Canada offers too many flavors. The most popular ones are:

Roasted

Salad

Tomato(one of my favorites)

Maple Syrup in JUMBO size (I've never tried this because I am not a big fan of maple syrup)
The Picture below shows my 2 favorite flavors, however, they discontinue them 2-3 years ago. They are peas and Shrimp with salt. The texture is SUPER crispy. I really wish that they can remake them.
Other flavors that I've tried include:
Corn

BeerTakoyaki

Melon Bunetc...(there are too many that I tried and I cannot find all the pictures for it)

Ice cream Crave!!!

Well I LOVE JUNK FOOD. I eat junk more than regular meal ( I know it is not good but I cannot help it!)

one of my favorite junk food is ICE CREAM. For some reasons, I crave for it almost every other day or almost every night.

#1 favorite is OREO ice cream bar

I don't really know why but I like this since I was in high school. I prefer this over the bucket ice cream because I actually get to eat the oreo biscuit..

#2 is Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Haagen-Dazs

Ben & Jerry's

I think I do have a thing for strawberry cheesecake.. but I guarantee that these 2 are the best of the best! hehee =) However, not a lot of places sell Ben & Jerry's Strawberry cheesecake flavor. I think I've seen it at Safeway before.

#4 Mochi Ice cream balls

Mikawaya Ice cream Mochi - you can get it at majority of the Chinese supermarket, however, they do not offer all the flavors. I've seen Mango, Green Tea and Red bean. and I like Mango and Red Bean the most =)

Lotte Yukimi Daifuku Mochi Ice Cream - it comes in 3 flavors, chocolate, green tea and Vanilla. In this case, green tea is my favorite.

#4 - Any Taro Ice cream / Popsicle - as long as it is not too icy/slushy then its good!!! I cannot find the pictures for the one that I usually have.. maybe I will snap a picture next time and add it in later!

#5 - RED BEAN ice cream. I had the best red bean ice cream in Taiwan earlier this year. I crave for it everyday when I was in Taiwan. I had 2 big bowls of eat prior to hot pot. Because that was an all you can eat dinner, I can eat as much ice cream as I want. So I decided to eat more ice cream than the meal itself. Again, I cannot find the picture of it but if you go to Asia, you can basically try any brands

Restaurants: My Favorites: Hy's

I will talk about restaurants that I like best ones that I like and restaurants that I think it tastes bad... First, I will start off with the ones that I like...

#1 - Hy's
It is my favorite favorite favorite restaurant at all time. The first time I've been there was like.. 5-6 years ago?? All I know that it was a steak house and it is under the same company as THE KEG and GOTHAM. Personally, I don't really like THE KEG(except the bread). I think it is overpriced..

I've tried ALL the appetizers at the restaurant and for sure you have to order the Cheese Toast, everyone who tried it said it is amazing and they always want to come back for it! My friends from Japan, and Hong Kong said they miss the cheese toast all the time.

For the people who had been to Hy's, I'm sure you have tried the Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, right? It is really the best Prime Rib that I've ever tried in my life. The steak itself is well-cooked and it is super juicy. However, I do not think any girl could finish it because it is like 16oz. You can ask if they have half portion and see what they say. Sometimes, they will make it for you..

Another dish named Filet a la Hy's, is what I order EVERYTIME I go there. It is made up of 3 tiny pieces medallions of beef tenderloin sautéed with wild mushroom sauce. This is the right amount for a girl with small appetite. I can finish the whole thing by myself.

The majority of the food @ Hy's taste good, but I don't think I will try NY Strip there, as some people told me that it doesn't taste as good as they thought.

As for desserts, I highly recommend the Cheesecake, I love it because of the sauce that goes on top of it. It is made of a mixture of different berries which make me go back to the restaurant to have it ALL the time.

As far as I know, Rob, is one of the best servers at the restaurant as he worked there for the longest and I often go back to him! =)

Overall, the price is not that expensive compare to THE KEG.

As for Gotham, I don't think its any better than Hy's or the KEG,but the price is a lot more expensive.

GLYSOMED

who doesn't like hand cream??? I came across with this brand a many years ago. Eversince I used this product, I don't want to go to other brands! I like giving out this hand cream to friends and relatives as souvenirs because it is really a good product! (I'm not trying to sell this product)

The texture of this cream is quite "sticky", however, it really last for a longg time! My cousin, who is a flight attendant, said that this is the best product for people who work in this field. She said that it is very dry when she works and that it dries up quickly. After using this cream, she said her hands got smoother.

Basically, I tried most of their products and I recommend the follow:

For those who like scented cream, this is the right one for you. I usually use it after I wash my hands after dishes and before I head to bed.
For those who does not like scented cream, then you can choose this one.

I've also tried their foot balm, which I use it after the shower before heading to bed. It has a minty feeling.

However, I DO NOT recommend their body cream. I think it dries up toooo quickly! It has been a few years since I used this.. So, I am not sure whether they changed their formula.

Lastly, a new product just came out to the market earlier. I've seen advertisement at the bus station. I am going to get this and try it out!
I will update later once I get a hold to this product! =)

If you want to get this item, I think the best deal is at COSTCO.. you can get two 250ml bottles and a 25ml bottle for $15 cad(plus tax), while places like Safeway, Superstore costs like $3cad(plus tax) for a 25ml bottle.

Marc by Marc Jacobs

I am a BIGGGGGG fan of Marc Jacobs and I'm even a bigger fan of his young line Marc by Marc Jacobs. I buy almost all the "miss marc" tee-shirts that are available. And as far as I know, last month was the 10th year since he debuted his young line and he produced a bunch of stuff to review his previous works. However, it is not my cup of tea. For the people who would like to take a look of that collection, please view it here.

These are some of the miss marc items that is available now.

I am sooo getting this !! =)

Candle: MOR cosmetics

MOR is an Australian brand that I found at Holt Renfrew a year or 2 ago. I couldn't resist myself taking out my wallet once I took a sniff of their Lychee Flower scent. For someone who loves sweet and fruity fragrance, this is the item that you would like to get for your home. Once I finished with my first candle, I immediately googled and try to find alternative places that I could buy shop at. The reason is because Holt Renfrew offers only the candle and I realized they have perfume oil, hand soap, hanmd cream and body butter. I immediately bought all of the items.

I usually lit the candle in the kitchen and the scent flow around the whole apartment and it lasts for a long time, too!Shop Here

As for the perfume oil, it is a roll-on perfume and it is very convenient. A lot of my friends like the perfume oil and asked me to buy it for them. And the key is that it is not even considered as pricey... it was like $18USD. Shop Here

Perfumes & Candles : Jo Malone

Last year, my friend got me 3 bottles of Jo Malone perfume from UK. I think Jo Malone is one of the best brands out there because their perfume can literally last for the whole day. I did not own any Jo Malone before because I thought it was quite expensive compare to other branded ones like Hermes or Chanel. However, after using if for the first couple days, I just fell in love with it. Not that I don't like other brands but I think I will get other flavors ones tooo!

The three fragrances that I own are Red Rose, Nectarine Blossom & honey and Lime Basil & Mandarin. I personally like fruity and floral flavors, so I wouldn't recommend the Lime Basil & Honey because I think its for more mature woman.

my FAVORITE:

Each flavor comes in cream, candle, shower gel, etc.. if you like one of the flavors you can smell like them too.. since the perfume can last you the whole day, I think the fragrances will absorb into you if you use the shower gel and candle at home.

Lastly, I heard that "English Pear & Freesia" is very good and it always run out of stock at Holt Renfrew. I guess I will go try it out someday and bring it home if I like it!!

Perfume: Marc Jacobs Splash Cocktail 2011

The NEW perfumes are coming out on April 24th!!! I am probably getting the Cranberry one because it is one of my favorite dry fruit! This collection includes Cranberry, Ginger and Curacao.

For some of the people who loves perfume, There was another collection that came out last year! I picked up the Green Apple flavor on the first day that it was released. It came along with some macaroons and it tasted SUPER bad. But the perfume itself smells SUPER good.. hehee

Novels

Reading is one of my hobbies. A lot of people don't like reading these days because they find it too time consuming and they have feel that they can use the time to do something that is more fun (ie. watching tv, listening to music, drinking, etc). But for me, I like reading because it is relaxing. I get to lie on the sofa and eat some junk food while reading a novel. I even read novels before I sleep when I have nothing much to do (that is likely to be during semester breaks and holidays).

So for some of the people who likes reading, I would like to recommend some novels and/or authors to you girls. A lot of the novels I read and like end up being in the theatres.

My recommendations are the followings:

#1 - Sophie Kinsella / Madeleine Wickham
I believe her MOST MOST MOST famous novel is SHOPAHOLIC, which became a movie. I read all her books and I totally LOVE it. The reason is probably because I am a shopaholic (somewhat) haha.. Her novels are super easy to read and its very funny. I cannot stop once I started. I can finish a book in a day. Her latest book is called "Mini Shopaholic", which I finished 2/3 of it on my way to Hong Kong from Japan (around 4hrs). It is very funny and I highly recommend it.

#2 - Cecelia Ahern (Best of the best)
Again, I buy all her books and read all of them. P.S. I love you is one of my favorites and again, it became a movie. Cecelia's books are very sweet and full of love. I guess no girls can resist that. However, my recommendation would be "Where Rainbows End". I read this book twice and I can read it for the 3rd, 4th, 5th time if I have the time for it. I think this book is just amazing. It is in a form of conversations and it is EXTREMELY easy to read and you just want to go on and on until you finish.

This is the cover of "Where rainbows end" and I introduced it to some of my friends and they all liked it! =D

#3 - Emily Giffin
This author has a couple books, "Something borrowed", "Something Blue", "Baby Proof", etc. The movie "Something Borrowed" is coming out to the theatres in April 2011.

# 4 - The book "Memoirs of a Geisha"
I read this book when I was grade 11, my "favorite" English teacher said it is an amazing book and insisted me to read it. At that time, no one really know about this novel. I think the movie didn't come out until like 3-4 years after I read the book. This book is a TRUE story and it is very touching and amazing. I felt that I was living at that time when I read it.

1st post!!

It feels weird to start writing again! It seems like I haven't written anything in like a million years. I hope I will do a good job on this blog as I am trying to keep up with writing so my poorly English skill will remain at this level.

Anyways, I am a girl who likes to try out new things. I hope to try out a lot more things this year. For example, taking scuba diving classes, event planning, wedding planning, WSET level 3 and sign language. If possible, I would like to go to places like Dubai, Egypt, South Africa, India and of course Europe when I achieve my above goals. =D I will be finishing my undergrad degree SOON. I cannot wait til I finish because I chose the wrong major and I do not like what I study.

And as for this blog, I will try to update it whenever I find something interesting that I would like to share with others. It could be something that I bought/own, some restaurants that I like/dislike, somewhere that I will do/did, etc... I hope to be friends with whoever that reads my blog as I really want to make more friends!

One last thing before I get started, whatever I blog is only my personal opinions. So, I hope there will be no rude languages, dissing or insulting here.

Thanks for visiting and nice meeting you all!
